NOAS NOTICE 3/2024

Dear 2024 Student Applicant,

Welcome to the National Online Application System (NOAS). By Law, DHERST is mandated to facilitate a transparent efficient national admission of students into registered (PNG) higher education institution. NOAS therefore is one of PNG Government’s many contributions to the higher education sector, and specifically for national selection.

In 2024, DHERST has introduced two main features. Firstly, to increase security and ensure no one else except you (student who owns this account) applies, an email security feature is introduced. This means, before you proceed to filling MyData field and MyChoices, you would have been expected to submit and verify your email address. Due to entry traffic at this time, some students may temporarily find it difficult to access their accounts. However please note the following:

1. When you submit your email address, DO NOT click on the email submit button more than once. Continuous submission creates additional request and may further delay the notification email you should have gotten faster.
2. There are more than 33,000 plus registered grade 12 students. This means more students are also simultaneously trying to log in. DHERST encourages that you wait for the email notification (to your nominated email address), then reactivate your account.
3. You have 3 months to apply on NOAS. Please do not panic. DHERST will ensure you are given opportunity to complete your MyData and My Choices, before the Grace Period.

Another additional feature in this year’s NOAS cycle is the inclusion of NON-SCHOOL leavers on NOAS. This means, non-school leavers will have the opportunity to apply too for programs which they are interest to apply for, and are eligible to apply for.

DHERST encourages all applicants to carefully read, practice critical deep analytical thinking, and only apply for programs which student(s) is/are eligible for.

CAUTION:

1. NOAS is a FREE government service for all grade 12 school leavers and interested non-school leavers. No money should be paid to any DHERST staff, or any other third party claiming to assist you to apply. If you have been wrongfully charged by person(s) claiming to provide you advice on NOAS, please register this with the DHERST Deputy Secretary in charge of NOAS on email: lmargis@dherst.gov.pg
2. Do not let anyone else apply on your behalf. This includes your parents, siblings or third parties. Therefore, do not submit or make available your credentials to anyone else as you are solely responsible for your NOAS activities. If you lose or misplace your credentials, contact the NOAS support team or your patron to attain new credentials.
3. Three universities entry requirement include STAT-P Test. STAT-P test bookings are now available. You can book directly through your NOAS MyData page.
