This is the official site for Papua New Guinea Grade 12 school leavers and current non-school leavers (NSL students)  applying  for admission into registered in-country Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). By Law,  the Department of Higher Education Research Science and Technology (DHERST) is mandated to facilitate a transparent efficient national admission of students into registered (PNG) higher education institution. The National Online Application System (NOAS) is the application portal for all applicants. DHERST encourages all prospective applicants to fully utilize this platform for potential selections and admission.

This year's NOAS applicants will have access to viewing new academic programmes from registered HEIs. A number of new full-time ONLINE programmes are also now available for students wishing to study off-campus in 2026 onwards. Student applicants are encouraged to carefully consider both on-campus and full-time online programmes when applying. Programme details are  available in student's NOAS accounts- MyEligible programmes tab.

COMING SOON: 2025 APPLICATION CYCLE FOR ACADEMIC YEAR 2026

August 12th 2025 onwards: all  Grade 12 student applicants’ credentials will be issued through school patrons' accounts. Eligible non-school leaver applicants from CDEs, FODE, DODL and other matriculation centers will be issued NOAS credentials through their local matriculation center.All applicants are encouraged to activate their NOAS accounts before Term 3 ending. For any corrections to student details, please register corrections with the school/center as soon as possible.

 IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENTS FOR THIS YEAR'S APPLICANTS

  1. All NOAS applicants are required to have a personal reliable email.
  2. All applicants must check and ensure their MyData information are accurate. 
  3. An e-copy of the NOAS user guide is available
  4. STAT-PNG is a prerequisite for some programmes. The STAT-PNG registration link can be accessed using NOAS accounts.
  5. Bi-Lateral scholarships are available for specific programmes. Check programme descriptions for details on how to apply for these scholarships.
  6. Maintain the confidentiality of your NOAS account details. If you lose your login credentials, report this to your patron or DHERST immediately.

Other Updates

  • August 12th 2025: NOAS portal open for Gr12 and NSL applications.
  • August 26th: STAT-PNG registrations open
  • October 13th at 11:59pm- STAT-PNG registration close.
  • October 13th-17th: NOAS access is restricted- Gr12 National Examination Week
  • NOAS Grace Period is in the first week of December, 2025. Tentative Dates: 1st-7th December, subject to final Gr12 exam result returns.
